D.I.Grantase Crowdfunding Process

  1. Approval from Institutional Administration: Prior to initiating your crowdfunding efforts on the D.I.Grantase platform, it is important to check with your institutional administration and ensure their approval. Here is a list of institutions where researchers have successfully utilized crowdfunding to raise microgrants for research.
  2. Registration on D.I.Grantase: Fill out the registration form on the D.I.Grantase platform. Make sure to provide a concise summary of your research, explained in simplified terms that can be understood by both scientists and non-scientists. Once your information has been validated, you will receive a confirmation email. You will then be required to log in to your D.I.Grantase page and complete your payout information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a third-party platform that employs SSL-128-bit encryption to ensure secure transactions.
  3. Sharing Your Crowdfunding Campaign: Spread the word by sharing your crowdfunding campaign via email, text messages, and your social media network.
  4. Accepting Donations: Donors can access your crowdfunding campaign by clicking on the link you share. On the D.I.Grantase platform, donors have the ability to search for researchers using various criteria such as name, institution, or research topic.
  5. Withdrawal of Donations: You have the flexibility to withdraw the donated funds at any time. Funds will be transferred to a registered bank account associated with your affiliated institution. The transfer will be conducted via ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfer or by check, depending on your preference. The payout process typically takes 3 to 5 business days to complete.
  6. Tax Considerations: Donations raised on the D.I.Grantase platform are generally not subject to taxes. We advise that you consult with your affiliated institution to validate this information.
